Cookie Policy
This policy explains how Collaborative Marketing uses cookies and similar technologies. We're committed to being transparent about what data we collect and how we use it. We use minimal cookies — only what's necessary to keep you logged in and secure.
Short version: We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser, but you won't be able to log in.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your browser that help websites remember information about you. When you visit a website, it can read these files to recognize you, remember your preferences, and keep you logged in across sessions.
Similar technologies include: localStorage (browser storage), sessionStorage, and tracking pixels. These technologies work similarly to cookies but store data differently or track user behavior in different ways.
Cookies can be either:
- First-party cookies — Set by the website you're visiting (collaborativemarketing.agency)
- Third-party cookies — Set by other domains embedded on the page (like analytics services or payment processors)
2. How We Use Cookies
We use minimal cookies and browser storage. Everything we store is essential to keeping you logged in and secure:
Authentication token (cm_token)
- Type: Session-based cookie
- Purpose: Keeps you logged into your account
- Duration: Expires when you close your browser or after 30 days of inactivity
- Necessary: Yes — Without this cookie, you cannot access your campaigns, account settings, or any platform features
CSRF token
- Type: Security cookie
- Purpose: Prevents cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. This protects your account from unauthorized actions
- Duration: Session-based, renewed on each request
- Necessary: Yes — This is essential for platform security
localStorage
- Type: Browser-based storage (not a traditional cookie)
- Purpose: We store your authentication state and UI preferences (like your dashboard layout, sidebar preferences, or theme settings)
- Duration: Persistent until you clear your browser cache or manually delete it
- Data stays on your device: This data is stored locally in your browser and never transmitted to our servers
- Necessary: Partially — localStorage for authentication is necessary to keep you logged in. UI preferences are optional and won't prevent you from using the platform
3. Third-Party Cookies
We may load third-party scripts that set their own cookies. These are optional integrations that your account administrator can enable or disable:
Google Analytics (if configured by admin)
- Purpose: Tracks how visitors interact with our website and platform. Helps us understand user behavior and improve our product
- Data collected: Pages visited, time on site, button clicks, conversion events
- Cookies set: _ga, _gat, _gid (Google Analytics cookies)
- Opt-out: You can install Google's opt-out browser add-on to prevent Google Analytics from tracking you
- Privacy: See Google's Privacy Policy
Meta Pixel (if configured by admin)
- Purpose: Tracks conversions and user behavior for Facebook and Instagram advertising
- Data collected: Page views, clicks, form submissions, purchases
- Cookies set: _fbp, fr (Meta Pixel cookies)
- Privacy: See Meta's Cookie Policy
Stripe (payment processor)
- Purpose: Processes payments and prevents fraud during checkout
- Data collected: Payment information (processed securely by Stripe, not stored by us)
- Cookies set: Stripe sets its own cookies for fraud prevention
- Privacy: See Stripe's Privacy Policy
4. Cookies We Do NOT Use
We explicitly do NOT use:
- Advertising or targeting cookies — We don't track you across the internet for advertising purposes
- Social media tracking pixels — Beyond Meta Pixel (which you can disable), we don't embed social media tracking pixels
- Cross-site tracking — We don't track you across different websites
- Cookie-based retargeting — We don't use cookies to retarget you with ads on other websites
- Cookies that sell or share your data — We never sell or share tracking data with third-party advertisers or data brokers
5. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies in your browser settings:
Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → Block all cookies (not recommended)
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Exceptions
Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies and website data
Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies and other site data
Important: If you disable essential cookies (cm_token and CSRF token), you will not be able to log in to Collaborative Marketing or use the platform. We recommend allowing these essential cookies while blocking advertising and tracking cookies from other services.
Cookie banner: We show a cookie consent banner on your first visit. You can accept all cookies, decline non-essential cookies, or manage your preferences. Your choice is saved in localStorage and respected for 12 months.
6. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy as our technology evolves. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you if there are significant changes that affect how we use cookies.
